Read →NET ZERO COMMITMENT
Our commitment to net zero.
Bluestaq Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 for our UK operations.
We are taking steps to reduce our emissions over time and to embed environmental responsibility across how we work. This commitment is owned and supported by the board of directors of Bluestaq Limited and was published on 29 June 2026.
An absolute commitment across UK operations, at the latest.
Emissions intensity halved, from about 9.5 to about 4.7 tCO2e per FTE.
CARBON REDUCTION PLAN
Prepared in line with PPN 006.
Published in line with Procurement Policy Note 006 (PPN 006), which replaced PPN 06/21 in February 2025, and the associated Technical Standard and guidance. This plan has been approved by the board.
Summary
For its first reporting year, the total footprint is 40.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e). Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are zero because the company operates fully remotely with no office or vehicles, so the footprint is almost entirely business travel. The interim target is to halve emissions intensity to approximately 4.7 tCO2e per FTE by 2030, from a baseline of 9.5 tCO2e per FTE.
Baseline and current reporting year
| Emissions scope | Total (tCO2e) |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 (direct emissions) | 0.0 |
| Scope 2 (purchased electricity) | 0.0 |
| Scope 3 (included sources) | 40.2 |
| Total emissions | 40.2 |
Emissions intensity is approximately 9.5 tCO2e per FTE, based on an average of 4.25 FTE staff. Reported using the financial control boundary and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard, with UK Government conversion factors and air travel including radiative forcing.
Projected reduction trajectory
| Milestone | Intensity (tCO2e per FTE) |
|---|---|
| 2025 to 2026 (baseline year) | 9.5 |
| 2030 (interim target, 50% reduction) | 4.7 |
| 2050 | Net Zero |
An intensity target keeps the commitment meaningful as the business scales, while the absolute Net Zero commitment governs the long-term trajectory.
Completed and current measures
- A fully remote operating model, eliminating office energy use (Scope 1 and Scope 2) and employee commuting emissions.
- Cloud-hosted service delivery, using efficient shared data-centre infrastructure rather than dedicated on-premise hardware.
- Digital-first, paperless working across all operations.
- Rail as the default mode for UK travel where practicable.
Planned future measures
- A sustainable travel policy: video conferencing as the default, consolidation of US travel, preference for direct flights, and the lowest practical cabin class on long-haul routes.
- When an office is adopted, energy-efficient premises, 100% renewable electricity backed by REGO certificates, and avoidance of fossil-fuel heating where practicable.
- Sustainability expectations embedded in procurement and supplier selection as the supply chain develops.
- Certified carbon offsetting for residual emissions once the company has scaled, applied only after reduction measures.
- Adoption of a recognised environmental management standard, such as ISO 14001, as the team grows.
- Year-on-year improvement of Scope 3 data quality, moving from estimates towards measured activity data.
Declaration
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and the associated guidance and reporting standard, using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol corporate standard and UK Government emission conversion factors. It has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors of Bluestaq Limited.
